At the nest, we can certainly relate to this feeling and whilst many of us are spending much more time at home, what better opportunity to give that overflowing wardrobe some much-deserved love. We have come up with a way to give you that little nudge you might need to clear out your wardrobe and say goodbye to those once loved styles - and build up some birdsnest credits along the way!

The perfect excuse (and reward) for cleaning out your wardrobe! Save space in your wardrobe, give clothes a new lease on life, and earn a little extra credit to spend on your next birdsnest treat.
Here at the nest, we are always thinking about ways that we can live and run our business more sustainably, and we can see that one of the significant ways we can make a difference is to make sure that our garments and your birdsnest wardrobe have the longest possible life. Our dream is to help that once loved piece of yours, find a new owner who does fall in love with it all over again and breathe new life into it.

How It Works
We want you to send your once-loved birdsnest pieces back to us, and we’ll give you a birdsnest credit for future purchases.
First thing’s first, you need to pick the birdsnest pieces that you are willing to part with. Say thank you for all the confidence and joy they have given you, and hello to some extra wardrobe space. We’re only accepting clothing items - no shoes, bags, jewellery, hats, swimwear, intimates or anything like that. Just clothing.
Now ask yourself these questions...
Did you answer yes to all of these? Well, we will happily accept them and offer you a birdsnest credit for loving your birdsnest items so well.
There are two ways to get your pieces back to us.
- Next time you make an order with us, enter the code REHATCHED at the checkout and we will add a ‘Re-hatched pack’ to your order. This includes a prepaid postage satchel and the ‘Re-hatched’ form. You then fill out the form, put your pieces in the pre-paid satchel and send it flying back to the nest.
- If you have some pre-loved pieces, but aren’t looking to shop right now, you can download the ‘Re-hatched’ form here, and send the pieces back yourself.
Once your pieces have come back to the nest, we will process your birdsnest credit as an e-voucher and you will receive a credit as outlined in the birdsnest credit table below.

What items are you accepting?
We will only accept clothing pieces that have been purchased from birdsnest. We will not accept accessories (hats, gloves, jewellery or scarves), intimates (underwear, bras, swimwear), shoes, or any clothing items that are damaged or in need of repair.
How much credit will I receive for my item?
Plus, you will receive a bonus $1 for every item when you return 5 or more items (e.g. 4 items = $0 bonus and 6 items = $6 bonus)
How have you come up with the Credit Model?
The credit table is based on research into the pricing models of established vintage marketplaces and takes into account that we will spend time cleaning, taking photos and basically preparing these garments at a future time to go on a date with their new owner.
The credit you receive may not be enough to clear out your entire birdsnest wishlist, but when you think of what you’re doing for the environment and the spare hangers you’ve free’d up for more clothes - we hope a little birdsnest credit is just a touch of icing on an already delicious cake!
How do I send my items back to ‘the nest’?
There are 2 ways to get your pieces back to us.

What happens to my item if I send it back and it does not meet the criteria?
Items must be in very good to excellent condition with no signs of wear and tear, are not in need of repair, have label intact, no make up stains and have been laundered. If your items do not meet this criteria, we unfortunately cannot accept them, and will not be able to return them to you. We will happily donate them to charity for you.
Before sending any pieces back to birdsnest re-hatched, remember to ask yourself these 3 questions:
- Are they are in very good to excellent condition?
- Are they are clean and laundered?
- Is the original retail price was $50 or more?
How do I find the original RRP of my item?
Login to you birdsnest account, find the order with the item you want to re-home, click on the item and you will see the RRP.
How do I find the Style Code of my item?
Login to you birdsnest account, find the order with the item you want to re-home, click on the item and you will see the style code under the name of the item in grey text.

How long will it take for me to receive my credit note?
You will receive your credit within 7 business days after we receive the parcel.
What is a birdsnest credit and what can I use it on?
You will receive your credit as an e-voucher that can be used on ANYTHING on the birdsnest site - including sale items and in conjunction with all other promotions and deals.
What happens to the clothes after we send them back?
One bird's nest is another bird's feathers! Once we are through this pandemic and we are able to be together again, we want to throw one big party in our hometown of Cooma, where we can all shop these fabulous pieces in a huge marketplace, so that we can give new life and a new home to your once loved styles. What precautions are you taking for the current COVID-19 pandemic?
At birdsnest, the safety and wellbeing of our team, community, and customers is our number one priority and we assure you we are taking it extremely seriously. New guidelines are in place around accepting and unpacking deliveries of stock to the Nest as well as the processing of Returns. Our teams are equipped with gloves and anti-bacterial wipes.
